Modern Shinai swords are constructed in a tubular form of four highly polished and equally weighted slats of bamboo. These slats are held together by a guard called a Tsuba. These swords are used for practice so that practitioners aren’t seriously injured. These shinai swords are constructed of thick sheaves of bamboo and include a thick plastic guard and securing ring. For carrying your shinai we have included a durable nylon sheath with adjustable back straps. This set just brought going to practice a whole new meaning.
